01 · The challenge
Visual proof, slowed by shared hosting
In construction, visual proof is paramount. But the firm’s legacy site sat on commodity shared hosting with a slow Time to First Byte, and it could not deliver the 4K drone site surveys, 3D CAD renders and high-resolution portfolio assets that procurement committees expect to see.
The resulting latency caused layout shifts and buffering — and a negative “trust transfer”, where a prospective client associates a slow website with slow logistics and loose project management.
02 · The risk
Security and procurement exposure
Beyond performance, the firm faced a security liability. On shared infrastructure, a breach of an unrelated, poorly secured website on the same server can be used to move laterally and reach other tenants’ data.
For a firm handling proprietary architectural drawings and financial data, that is a weak answer to the questions procurement increasingly asks about how data is hosted and segregated. Supply-chain assessments such as the UK’s Common Assessment Standard (CAS), and the network-segregation control in ISO 27001, look for exactly the isolation a shared server cannot offer.
03 · What we did
Isolated infrastructure and active overwatch
We migrated the firm’s website off shared hosting onto an isolated virtual private server with dedicated NVMe storage — for data sovereignty and hardware segregation.
Edge delivery for heavy media
A calibrated edge content delivery network caches the 4K architectural assets close to the viewer, for sub-100-millisecond delivery.
Hardened perimeter
Administrative paths obscured and strict transport-security headers enforced, reaching a Grade A security posture against automated brute-force attacks.
Managed care
The firm opted into our managed care: constant monitoring, daily encrypted off-site backups and continuous performance tuning, for business continuity.
