When Someone Asks AI For A Business Like Yours, Do You Come Up?

People have stopped scrolling through ten blue links. They ask ChatGPT or Google’s AI for a plumber, a dentist, an accountant near them — and get three names back. I can tell you, today, whether one of them is you.

YOUR WEBSITE CAN BE FINE AND YOU CAN STILL BE MISSING

This is the part most people find surprising, so I’ll be blunt about it: a good-looking website that loads quickly can still be completely invisible to AI. The two things are not the same, and nothing in Google Analytics will tell you.

I know because it happened to me. I run the audit tool that measures this, I built it, and when I pointed it at my own website it scored 100 out of 100 on the technical side — and zero on the question that actually matters: when someone asks for a business like mine without naming me, do the AI engines mention me?

They didn’t. They named someone else. Everything was built correctly and I was still not in the answer.

Try it yourself, right now
  • Open ChatGPT or Google’s AI and type: “best [what you do] near Cambourne”
  • Don’t type your business name — that’s the whole point
  • See who it suggests

If you’re in there, good. If you’re not, you now know something your competitors probably don’t. And it’s fixable — that’s the useful bit.

HOW I WORK WITH LOCAL BUSINESSES

Three steps. No jargon, no long contract, and I do the work myself — you won’t be handed to anyone.

Step one

I Check

I run the audit on your site. It asks ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude the questions your customers actually ask, and records whether you’re named or somebody else is. You get the result as a proper report, not a sales pitch.

Step two

We Talk It Through

I’ll go through it with you in plain English — what’s fine, what isn’t, and what’s actually worth fixing. If the honest answer is “not much, you’re in decent shape”, I’ll tell you that and we’re done.

Step three

I Fix It

If there’s work to do, I do it. You don’t get a list of recommendations to find someone else for. Then we re-run the audit a month later and see whether it moved.

WHO THIS IS FOR

Independent local businesses. If people find you by searching rather than walking past, this applies to you.

Trades & builders Dental & medical practices Solicitors & accountants Shops & showrooms Cafés, pubs & restaurants Salons & clinics Local services Vets & pet services

WHAT IT COSTS

Fixed prices, published. You’ll know what you’re paying before we start, and I’d rather tell you the number now than make you ask for it.

The Audit

£50 one-off

The full check across three AI engines, as a report you keep. Plus a conversation about what it means. If you decide to do nothing, that’s genuinely fine — you’ll still know where you stand.

Audit + The Essentials Fixed

£250 one-off

The most common one. I put the files and settings in place that let AI engines read and quote your site properly, then re-check it. For most local businesses this is the whole job.

The Bigger Job

£600 one-off

For sites that need more than the basics — structure, speed, security and search all sorted together. I’ll only suggest this if the audit shows you actually need it.

No monthly contract, no lock-in. If you’d rather just look at it yourself first, the basic version of my tool is free on WordPress.org and always will be.

FIND OUT WHERE YOU STAND

Put your website address in the form below. The free check is instant and lands in your inbox. If you want the full picture, the paid one is £50 and I go through it by hand before you get it.

THE FREE CHECK

£0 instant, in your inbox

A snapshot of how ready your site is for AI assistants to read and quote it. Costs nothing and takes a couple of minutes.

  • Your AI Readiness, GEO and SEO scores out of 100
  • Checks the files AI crawlers look for on your site
  • Tells you whether the major AI crawlers can reach you at all
  • Nothing to install — just your web address

Good for finding out whether there’s a problem worth paying to look at.

THE FULL AUDIT

£50 one-off, nothing recurring

The one that answers the actual question: do the AI engines name you when somebody asks for a business like yours?

  • Everything in the free check, plus:
  • We ask ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude the questions your customers ask — and record whether you get named or a competitor does
  • How each one describes you, and who they suggest instead
  • Real Google speed and security scores
  • A proper report you keep, checked by me before it reaches you

If it comes back saying you’re fine, I’ll tell you and that’s the end of it.

REQUEST YOUR CHECK

Pick free or paid on the form. Either way it comes to me, and I’ll come back to you personally.

Rather just talk to someone? Ring me on 01223 944560 — you’ll get me, not a salesperson, and I’m happy to come to you if you’re nearby.

Run your own site on WordPress? There’s a free version of the same tool on WordPress.org you can install and use forever without paying me anything.

WHERE I AM

I’m based on Gladiator Road in Upper Cambourne. That’s the honest reason this page exists: for businesses near me I can come and sit down with you, which makes the whole thing easier than doing it over email.

Further afield is fine too — most of this work happens remotely and I have clients across the UK. The difference here is simply that I can turn up in person.

QUESTIONS I GET ASKED

Is this just SEO with a new name?
No, though they overlap. SEO is about where you rank in a list of links. This is about whether you get named in an answer where there is no list — someone asks, the AI says three names, and you’re either one of them or you aren’t. Different question, and it needs some different things in place. I check both, because the old one still matters.
I had my website done recently. Does that mean I’m fine?
Not necessarily, and this is the bit that catches people out. Most web designers build for people looking at a screen, which is the right job — but AI engines read a site differently, and they look for specific files and structure that a normal build doesn’t include. A brand new site can score zero. Mine did, and I build these for a living.
What if the audit says I’m doing fine?
Then I’ll tell you that and you’ve spent £50 finding out you don’t need to spend more. I’d rather that than sell you something you don’t need — it’s a small village and I’d like to still be working here in ten years.
Do I need to understand any of the technical side?
No. I’ll explain what’s happening in normal language, and if you’d rather I just got on with it, I’ll get on with it. You won’t get a report full of terms designed to make the work sound harder than it is.
Will I have to change my website?
Usually not visually. Most of what needs fixing sits behind the scenes — files, settings and structure that only machines read. Your site normally looks exactly the same afterwards, it just gets understood properly.
How long until it makes a difference?
The technical side is fixed immediately and shows on the next check. Whether the AI engines start naming you takes longer — usually somewhere between a few weeks and a couple of months, because they need to pick the changes up. That’s why I re-run the audit after thirty days rather than declaring victory on day one.
Who am I actually dealing with?
Me — Dario. Daryo89 Ltd is a registered company (no. 14758584), ICO registered and insured, and I do the work myself. There’s no account manager and no call centre. If you ring the number you get me.

WORTH FIVE MINUTES OF YOUR TIME

Go and ask ChatGPT who the best in your trade is around here. If your name doesn’t come up, get in touch and I’ll show you exactly why — and what it would take to change it.
